Progress

Progress - Before starting, I had almost no idea what distance would be required to complete the challenge. After the first 5 runs covering my housing estate, I guesstimated the total distance to be about 200 miles (320km) for the whole of Dumfries.

Now that I have completed the challenge, this turned out to be 36 runs and a total distance of 221 miles (354km), so my original guess wasn't too far off!

Method - I've used Strava to record each run and transferred them onto maps printed from the Sandbox tool in GPS Visualizer. There's probably a smarter way to compile my efforts but adding them by hand made each step that bit more satisfying. A few of the routes were planned using the Explore tool in Strava (subscription required), most usefully to plug gaps in areas nearing completion. Planning every route in detail would have taken forever, and I soon accepted that running the same street twice or even three times is part of the deal.

Ground rules - Well it's Every Single Street, so footpaths, lanes and car parks are optional. Most importantly, to avoid looking a complete idiot or getting arrested, if the street is less than 10 metres long and the sole inhabitant is watching intently from their drive, then it's OK to turn around and just skip it.
